1) Purpose of the Policy

The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for La Maggiò Costruzioni srl in order to guarantee the recognition of human value and the protection of work and dignity in all its forms, applications and extensions.

Respect for human rights and the promotion of employee well-being are deeply rooted in the values ​​and founding principles of the company.

They are therefore essential elements for the sustainability of our business activities and create value in the communities in which we operate.

 

2) Areas of application

This policy applies to La Maggiò Costruzioni srl .: the company recognizes that the problems related to human rights are vast and complex and require a detailed approach. Therefore, the key areas to be prioritized in our commitment along the entire value chain have been identified here.

This Labor and Human Rights Policy defines the Principles relating to Rights Humans for each of these key areas. We expect all of our employees and business partners to work with us to align with our priorities throughout the value chain.

 

3) Our approach to Work and Human Rights

This Policy reinforces what has already been stated in the Code of Ethics and constitutes a manifesto that commits the Company to promoting the protection of human rights for all people working in its value chain. The Italian regulatory framework already regulates respect for fundamental human rights, however La Maggiò undertakes to respect and actively disseminate the principles set out in the legislation and standards issued by international reference organizations, including:

- the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and subsequent international conventions on civil and political rights and on economic, social and cultural rights;

- the United Nations Conventions on women's rights, on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, on the rights of the child, on the rights of persons with disabilities;

- the Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the eight fundamental Conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO);

- the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development adopted on 25 September 2015 by the General Assembly of the United Nations and the related 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


The objective of the Policy is to define, structure and develop a clear approach on the subject, which is broader than that required by law and which allows for the monitoring and management of risks and opportunities related to human rights in all their forms through systematic application at every level. organizational and functional of the Company, also confirming its commitment to pursue an investment and management activity socially responsible. The integration of these principles of respect for human rights in investment processes aims to generate long-term sustainable economic returns as well as to achieve better risk management.It also constitutes a primary reference document within which the Company undertakes to operate in order to contribute to the achievement of the purposes and standards set forth therein, the National Action Plan "Business and Human Rights" prepared by the Interministerial Committee on Human Rights of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and adopted by the Italian government.

 

4) General Principles

La Maggiò is a convinced promoter of the same principles both internally and externally, with those subjects who work on its behalf (such as suppliers or, in general, partners), also through constant collaboration with institutions national and local, providing as modus operandi the signing of memoranda of understanding and declarations affirming the protection of human rights, as well as the permanent activation of forms of structured dialogue and shared participation with all stakeholders who are able to ensure, also at a territorial level and in a uniform way, their proactive involvement in the areas of their respective competence.

The approach adopted by the Company is aimed at protecting the rights of the subjects belonging to its value chain, including its own workers, suppliers and partners, migrants, children, people with disabilities, people who are victims of discrimination, trafficking in human beings and any form of violence, local communities and customers.

 

4.a) Child protection and prohibition of exploitation

We recognize the human rights of children, such as the right to education, the right to play and their basic needs and we adhere to the definitions provided by the ILO (International Labor Organization) in relation to the minimum age for employment and dangerous work and we want to align with the Child Rights & Business Principles.

4.b) Prohibition of forced labor

Our goal is to ensure that all employees enjoy the freedom of movement and are not restricted by physical restrictions, abuses, threats and practices such as withholding identity documents or valuables, having the right to work freely, are at knowledge in advance of working conditions and are regularly paid. We oppose forced labor as defined by the ILO and condemn the use of all forms of forced or compulsory labor, including prison forced labor, contract labor, forced labor, modern forms of slavery and any form of trafficking. of human beings within our value chain.

4.c) Fair wages

Our goal is to provide all employees with a fair and competitive salary in line with the relevant ILO Payroll Conventions, taking into account the needs of employees and their families. Our salaries are determined according to global principles, with the help of structures that reflect the practices and values ​​of the local market and comply with applicable laws and legal requirements.

4.d) Working hours

We are aware of the challenges posed by the reconciliation of work and private life and we recognize the right to rest and leisure. We comply with applicable laws and any collective agreements relating to working hours and paid holidays. Our goal is to provide all employees with the ability to meet both business and personal needs. We respect applicable laws and support the ILO Conventions on working hours and weekly rest.

4.e) Prohibition of Discrimination and Harassment

We value diversity and inclusion and condemn any form of discrimination and harassment, any inappropriate or disrespectful behavior, such as physical and verbal abuse and sexual harassment in the workplace or during any work-related event. Our goal is to take proactive measures to promote equal opportunities for all employees, including temporary and temporary workers, seasonal workers and workers employed in a country other than their country of origin or nationality. We abide by the ILO Conventions on discrimination and migration for work reasons.

4.f) Freedom of association and collective bargaining

We recognize the right of our employees to form and join a union of their choice and the right to collective bargaining without fear of intimidation or reprisals. We oppose any discriminatory behavior against trade union organizations in case of union membership and activity in the following areas: job applications, training decisions, awards, advancements, dismissals or transfers. We abide by the ILO Conventions on freedom of association, collective bargaining and employee representatives.

4.g) Health and safety

We recognize that people are the heart of the company. In accordance with the ILO Convention on Health and Safety, we continuously work to provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all our employees by addressing the identified risks, implementing preventive measures, evaluating the effectiveness of these measures on an ongoing basis. improvement. We comply with applicable laws on health and safety at work with the aim of creating a sustainable culture of health and safety within the organization. We also promote the health and well-being of all our employees and support a healthy lifestyle.

4.h) Privacy

We respect and protect the privacy and security of the personal information of our employees, consumers, users, vendors, suppliers and customers in accordance with our Data Protection Policy. We comply with applicable laws and standards regarding the protection of personal data.

4.i) Environmental issues relating to human rights

We recognize that a safe, clean and sustainable environment is integral to the full enjoyment of human rights. The protection of the environment is therefore essential for the protection and respect of human rights. We aim to protect the ecosystem, promoting respect for land use, land rights and the culture and traditional livelihoods of local communities.

This policy is communicated to all employees, also through special and specific training sessions according to the areas of operation, roles and responsibilities, and is made available on the company website to all stakeholders, including collaborators, suppliers and partners. so that there is full awareness and further impulse to the promotion of human rights as an integral part of the value system of La Maggiò Costruzioni.

This policy will be evaluated for updating purposes at least once a year in the light of the evidence emerging from the assessments and monitoring of national and international trends in the protection and promotion of fundamental rights, including second and third generation.

 

This document was discussed, approved and signed by the Board of Directors of the company held on 21/11/2021 and a copy of this document was issued and illustrated to each employee of the company for inspection and approval. Given the absence of comments, this Policy is therefore intended to be signed by the entire company.
